As a precautionary measure, Verde's Cry Foundation is now holding all trainings virtually.

Become a Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Verde's Cry Foundation. We are currently not accepting new volunteers.

Crisis Line

Verde's Cry Foundation volunteers go through many hours of training to learn safe communication with callers. Volunteers are then paired with a mentor to begin answering crisis calls and texts.

Volunteers on the lines can expect to help people experiencing:
  • mental health emergencies
  • suicide
  • domestic violence
  • loneliness
  • grief
  • child abuse
  • trauma
  • addiction & recovery

Reassurance Calls

Volunteers go through many hours of training class to learn active listening, lethality assessment, and Verde's Cry Foundation policies & procedures. Volunteers then can make outbound calls to our Reassurance program participants.

The program participants are typically elderly or homebound with little to no daily support. These calls are friendly, check-in calls to help reduce loneliness and isolation in our community.
